Fight for Fifteen - San Francisco Living Wage

In November 2014, the City  and County of San Francisco voted in favor of a ballot initiative to raise the San Francisco minium wage to $15/hour, the highest wage for any city in the country. The measure was put forward by Jobs With Justice San Francisco, a coalition of community and labor groups, of which SOMCAN is an active member.

Through the organizing efforts of groups like SOMCAN-- doing voter outreach, public demonstrations, and working with City-wide allies-- they were able to make San Francisco a leader in achieving a living wage.
