Cleaner Air Campaign Demands

San Francisco’s existing Health Code does NOT protect all residents from the harmful effects of air pollution. To address this, SOMCAN is advocating for policy solutions that will improve indoor air quality for low-income residents in San Francisco. Our main demands are:

1. Amend Article 38 of the SF Health Code to protect ALL residential buildings in areas of poor air quality.
2. Mandate that building decarbonization funding centers racial and social equity AND includes tenant protections.
3. Allow building decarbonization funding to be used to install air filtration systems.

If you would like to get involved or learn more about our demands, please contact SOMCAN’s Environmental Justice Organizer at (510) 603-5350 or zfrial@somcan.org.
