Under AB 832 - Code of Civil Procedure section 1179.11 (no summons for unlawful detainer can issue unless the landlord can prove they have applied for rental assistance and been denied) and Code of Civil Procedure section 1179.13 (a tenant can prevent forfeiture, stay any pending UD, by showing the court they have an approved rental assistance application).
