I DARE YOUTH

Even during these challenging times, SOMCAN is pleased to continue our youth empowerment and leadership work with Initiative Direct Action to Raise Empowerment to the Youth (I DARE YOUth), an 8-week paid internship program for High School youth. The program began on July 17, 2020 and takes place in both in-person and virtual meetings.

I DARE YOUth internship builds the leadership skills, critical thinking and problem solving, and explores the importance of civic participation of youth in San Francisco. In collaboration with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), interns also discuss environmental justice and the role of SFPUC in our City.
